The Museum at Southwestern Michigan College, located on the College’s Dowagiac campus, is an interactive adventure in local history.
In addition to seeing hundreds of local history artifacts, visitors of all ages can experience hands-on learning, and best of all admission to the Museum is free!

Roseland Organic farms is presently certified by Indiana Certified Organic (ICO) and was originally certified from 1985 to 1998 by Organic Growers of Michigan (OGM). We raise certified organic beef and pork as well as all the feed fed. Visit our on farm store where you will find our beef and pork, chicken, and a wide array of certified organic foods.

Directions: From Sister Lakes take Willowood Dr. north to 95th Ave. Turn right on 95th Ave and follow to M 152. Turn right (south) on M 152 and follow to W. Lakeshore Drive. Turn left on Lakeshore Drive and follow to lake.
Restaurants: There are a variety of restaurants to visit in Dowagiac near Magician Lake. Enjoy Michigan’s renowned sunsets while you enjoy inside or outside dining at Captain Jack’s Redwood Inn. Other casual family dining include: Jo-Ho’s, Front Street Café, Wahoo Eatery and Lutz’s Drive In.

Directions: From Union go east on U.S. 12 to Sunset Blvd. Turn right on Sunset and follow south to the lake. Lake will be on east side of the street.
Restaurants: There are many restaurants to enjoy near Long Lake. Enjoy casual family dining with friendly service. Restaurants to visit include: Happy Landing Cafe, Oasis Family Restaurant, Melvilles, Brewsters Junction, and Paisano’s.
Shopping: Enjoy a variety of shopping experiences, unique specialty stores, antique malls and a 100-store discount mall are all just miles from Long Lake. Kalamazoo is also a place for great shopping.
Day Trips: There are a variety of locations you can visit that are not too far from Long Lake. The Air Zoo in Kalamazoo features amusement park-style rides, simulators, exhibits and educational activities. The Air Zoo was voted the “Best Place to Take Out-of-Towners.” There are also many other activities in Kalamazoo, Michigan and South Bend, Indiana that you can experience.

Directions: I 80/94 East to Bridgman, MI – Exit 16 (go right at stop sign), go North for approximately 1.2 miles to Lake Street (1st stop light) turn right, go East on Lake Street (becomes Shawnee Road) for 11.5 miles. At the end of the road, turn left onto Ferry Street, go Northeast through the town of Berrien Springs. After passing the St. Joseph River and the bend in the road, you’ll see a sign on the right hand side of the road that says “Eau Claire”. Turn left onto Dean’s Hill Road (becomes Hochburger Road) and follow along for approximately 3.4 miles (stop sign and Hardings at corner) turn right onto Pipestone Road (also called M-62) through the town of Eau Claire for approximately 5 miles. Turn left onto Brush Lake Road, turn right onto Forest Beach and turn left onto Indian Trail (first left). Park and come out to the lake!
Restaurants: Be sure to visit Wicks Apple House, Restaurant, Bakery, Farm Market, Gift Shop and Cider Mill. Homemade pies baked fresh daily, breads, donuts, coffee cakes etc. Come for breakfast and shop until lunch. Don’t forget our annual Cider Fest every Columbus Day Weekend. Horse drawn wagon rides, petting zoo, face painting, live country band and it’s all free! Additional restaurants to visit are: The Wood Fire, Zeke’s Restaurant and the Round Oak Restaurant.

Day Trips: The Newton House Museum is housed in a restored two-story Quaker home of the mid 1800s. It allows visitors to view the quality and style of life lived over 100 years ago. Turn right on Vera and follow to the lake.Restaurants: Baldwin Lake is in Union Michigan and there are several nice, small eateries right near the lake. Lunkers is just 15 minutes away in Edwardsburg and it is recognized by outdoor enthusiasts around the world. Angler’s Inn restaurant is located inside Lunkers and is one of a kind. You will experience thunderstorms, a 1,000 gallon salt water tank, huge portions, premium food and great service. For other places to eat please visit… Local restaurants.
Shopping: Take a 30 minute drive to Mishawaka, Indiana and visit the newly renovated University Park Mall. The mall offers many wonderful stores and restaurants. Drive down Main or Grape and find a variety of other shopping and eating venues.
Day Trips: Take a drive to South Bend, Indiana where you can spend the day shopping, white water raft, watch the South Bend Silver Hawks play, visit the Potawatomi Zoo, College Football Hall of Fame and Studebaker Museum. Also, don’t forget to stop by Notre Dame’s historical campus.
